Shining Star lyrics / poem by James Barnett

Cast about in loneliness
Stumbling in the dark
Wondering who you are
You have lost yourself
Pretending to be who you’re not
When will the game get flipped around
When will you turn on your light

You are the mystery revealed
The secret’s now been told
You are worth so much more
Than all your weight in gold
Your hidden depths can be brought forth
Unwrapped like presents
Displayed and used for yourself
And others to enjoy
You are a shining star

Life becomes an adventure
Knowing who you are
The game can be won
It gets so much fun
Because you’re the one
You’ve been waiting for

You are the mystery revealed
The secret’s now been told
You are worth so much more
Than all your weight in gold
Your hidden depths can be brought forth
Unwrapped like presents
Displayed and used for yourself
And others to enjoy
You are a shining star

The sky can be so limiting
Your limit is further than that
The giant within implores you now
To spread your wings and fly

You are the mystery revealed
The secret’s now been told
You are worth so much more
Than all your weight in gold
Your hidden depths can be brought forth
Unwrapped like presents
Displayed and used for yourself
And others to enjoy
You are a shining star
You are a shining star

You are the mystery revealed
The secret’s now been told
You are worth so much more
Than all your weight in gold
Your hidden depths can be brought forth
Unwrapped like presents
Displayed and used for yourself
And others to enjoy
You are a shining star
Ooh, you are a shining star
Yeah, you are a shining star
