Quotes to Draw Out the Confidence in You and in Me

“Self-confidence is a superpower. Once you start to believe in yourself, magic starts happening.” – Unknown

I can look back and see what my accomplishments have been. I’ve had fun. I’ve laughed. I’ve cried. I’ve connected. I’ve loved and been loved. I’ve expressed myself in wonderfully poetic ways. I’ve been the life of the party.

I’ve been responsible. I’ve taken care of myself. I’ve suffered losses and been able to keep on going. I’ve looked on the bright side. I’ve learned lessons from painful circumstances and from enjoyable times as well.

I’ve been a leader. I’ve inspired others. I’ve been strong for myself and others. There have been times when I’ve seen myself clearly as a man, not a boy. Now and then, my inner self shines through. That’s when I’ve been a confident man instead of a scared boy.

I write because I enjoy it, and I get to speak uninterrupted. Here are quotes to draw out the confidence in you and me.

Happiness and Confidence Go Together

“Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. No person will make you happy unless you (choose) to be happy. Your happiness will not come to you. It can only come from you.” – Ralph Marston

If somebody had told me this decades ago, I might not have believed them. I ended up learning the long and difficult way. It’s true, though. My happiness is up to me and no one else.

“Self-respect, self-worth, and self-love all start with self. Stop looking outside of yourself for your value.” – Rob Liano

I’ve been remembering some extremely embarrassing times when I thought I could find value in anyone except me. As if only others had value. That’s how skewed my thinking has been. I am the source of my value. And it felt powerful to admit that right now.

I win because I am. I focus on my confidence and believe in myself.

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your … powers, you cannot be successful or happy.” – Norman Vincent Peale

I remember being described as having quiet confidence.

“I am happy. I am beautiful. I am healthy. I am strong. I love my body. I attract positivity. I attract opportunity. I attract love. I am kind. I am smart. I am confident. I am successful. I am worthy of all the blessings coming my way.”

What Is Confidence?

Essentially, confidence is belief. Another word that can be used to describe confidence is trust. So, confidence is a belief or trust. Confidence sure comes in handy. And others have their own way of stating what confidence is.

“Confidence is your reward for overcoming fear.”

“Confidence is preparation. Everything else is beyond your control.” – Richard Kline

“Confidence is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.”

“Confidence is not “They will like me.” Confidence is “I’ll be fine if they don’t.”” – Christina Grimme

“Confidence isn’t walking into a room thinking you are better than everyone. It’s walking in not having to compare yourself to anyone.”

“Be confident. Too many days are wasted comparing ourselves to others and wishing to be something we aren’t. Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses. And it is only when you accept everything you are – and aren’t – that you will truly succeed.” – Unknown

Self-confidence is having a healthy view of oneself. And that provides an excellent foundation to build on…
